Had intended to order some winter wheels and tyres from mytyres today for our Fabia II FL. Noted in the handbook and on the filler flap that 165/70 R14 is listed as an (winter) option. This size appears to work well in the snow on our Furby I and putting it through the tyre size calculator suggests it's almost a perfect match diameter wise with the OEM 205/45 R16 tyres.

However I also had a look at the Skoda Germany tyre and rim guide; unfortunately it appears if my translator worked correctly, that this size is not compatible with TPM/TPC systems :S

Can anybody shed any further light on this before I get bamboozled by SUK. Theres no mention of this potential incompatibility in the handbook as far as I can see.

I'm not sure why that should be as its only a simplistic system which measures wheel rotation from abs sensors. Have changed from 16" alloys to 15" with 195/55 tyres and had no effect on TPM didnt even notice i has swapped wheels and the front two were at different pressures from the garage by about 10psi. :S got home reset pressures and the TPM and no light so far been a month.

When you inflate or change tyres/wheels you have to press the TPM button until it Beeps. this will reset the system
