Tranny

Featured Replies

Hi everyone

How can I recognize what tranny my Octavia 1.6 2003? I thought It was like the MK3 Jetta/Golf, but they use cables for the shift linkage, and mine uses rods...

Thanks :)

Look on the options sticker. The transmission code will be half way down on the right hand side.

The sticker is often in the front of the service book and/or in the boot under the carpet.

how to identify a tranny?!

I was going to suggest that you put your hand down the front and see what pops up emoticon-0136-giggle.gif

WTF... hahahahaha :D

Going back to the topic of the Transmision, the service book, does have a sticker on the inside of the cover that says:

1 Stuck

895 955 429A

584 3 391 014 576 885 917...

:dull: So what the transmision code?

I mainly after the transmision code because my ride keeps breaking the bushing in linkeage rod, and it's a PITA, it breaks like every 4-5 months...

I want to buy a Bahn Brenner kit, but dont know which one is the right for my Octy, and since I'm in Panama, it easier for me to get it from US...

Any help?
