optional equipment on the Octavia vRS

Featured Replies

Hello All

I am very new to the Skoda brand so please bear with Me.

I have been in contact with My local Skoda dealer this week regarding purchasing/ordering a Race Blue Octavia vRS DSG petrol estate before the end of the year. The dealer has told me as long as the order goes through before the 31st of December the car will still be discounted i.e the VAT saving is this true?

I also have been looking at the optional equipment You can order for the vRS what are the most popular options? I was thinking of satnac, xenon, leather, sunset glass, auto dimming,MDI,maxidot and possible a sunroof but not sure on this at the moment.

Can somebody give me a little bit of advice with the above please.

Regards

Darren

A sunroom! Are the estates that big :-)

I would add a multi-function steering wheel. You can only have the flappy paddle one with the VRS though.

Are you sure you need the MDI? You have to pay another £25 to buy a cable to connect. Unless you already have an ipod then just use the SD card slot - just noticed you are thinking of the satnav - can the Columbus take SD cards?

As long as you order the car before the end of the year they will absorb the vat increase, get it all in writing just to be safe.

The list of options seems about right apart from the sunroof, thats not a particularly popular choice but if you want it then go for it.

Maxi dot is almost essential as it allows you make many changes to certain convenience settings that would otherwise be a dealer jobbie.

The Columbus sat nav features 20GB of music storage plus an SD card reader in addition to what the MDI will offer.

The bluetooth handsfree system is excellent and is worth considering, it integrates very nicely with the Columbus and maxi dot display.

Get them to chuck in the spare wheel if it isn't already there, that tyre gunk is crap.

If you're ordering the DSG then you don't need to order Maxidot seperatley, it's standard on the DSG version

As said above, spare wheel is optional, so get one ordered

If you're going to order a Bluetooth HF system, make sure that you get the right one! Depending on your mobile.

Missed the bit about DSG :giggle:

Maxi dot is included of course

IIRC it also comes with the sat nav so does that mean you could technically pay for it twice?

Thanks for the info Guys I am really please that I posted on here I think I have some reading up to do.

for whats its worth.

mine has just arrived complete with sunroof !!

without the vat it seemed like a good option to me.

a little bit more valuable when it comes to selling.

on that list of options i'd add the spare wheel and the rear parking bleepers. i'm also a fan of heated seats (really REALLY nice to have in this weather). Light and rain sensors are nice to have too and not much £. I have all of these on my car.

hth.

Just looking at the Skoda optional equipment list on there website are the prices inclusive of VAT?

Get whatever is important to you, you use someone like DtD you might be able to save enough t be able to add more options. I'm glad with what I got, I decided against the SatNav as its not as up to date as TomTom and does'nt do speed cameras plus its 10 times more than a tomtom! Spare wheel is a must and the sunroof is nice, it helps to lighten the interior. You should get maxidot as standard with DSG.

IMHO I would rather have the parking sensors all round than have SatNav&leather for sure.

For prices use DtD to spec and quote for your car, use that as a real world list price.

P.S ! Get the soundproofing for the bonnet and some springs for the auto hatch lift mod, do a search. I would also get the boot liner and leds esp for the boot from SuperSkoda.

Are you a Star Wars fan by any chance? I noticed your user name is Skywalker! :giggle:

If getting the leather then I would order the heated seats as well. It does not add much to the cost but really useful in the cold weather as the leather is quite cold.

Same here ... VAT free meant sunroof was a nice affordable option. Maxidot and spare wheel are a must.

Placed my order for my vrs hatchback dsg tdi in race blue today with the following options: Heated Front Seats, Auto Dim Mirror, Curtain Airbags, MDI, Rear Park Sensors and Spare Wheel. Dealer mentioned that VAT free deal was ending on the 24th December.

+1 my leather is bloody freezing in this weather thank bob I've got heated seats!

Get the so called VAT free price promise in writing.

Hope you enjoy your car.

I am going to have a talk with my local dealer next week with regards to buying a new vRS race blue estate i was wondering with the long build times at the moment with the octavia how would the deal work. For example lets just say that i strike a deal with the garage next week and put my 08 reg Type R in for part exchange the car has only covered 15000 miles, would the dealer want the car as soon as possible or would i hang onto the car until pick up the i vRS. I have never gone and bought a new car before with a long build date.

Pending how much money you have: 1. Xenons, 2. GSM III+ Premium now supports any bluetooth phone for hands free, rear parking sensors (front ones are good too).

The fact is you can organise whatever deal you want with the agreement of the dealer. I ordered my VRS in June and px'd my car there and then because I have use of my wife's car. (My VRS should be ready in January). In these circumstances, I insisted the dealer actually paid me for my px and I put the cash in the bank. This was important because I could have lost that money had the dealership gone into administration while the car was on order. Just something to think about as it is not unknown for dealerships to "fail". Good luck.

When I ordered my petrol vRS estate in April, the dealer gave me a choice with the px.

£9750 now or guaranteed £9000 when the car is ready - estimated at 12 weeks' time.

Delivery took 10 weeks, £9k was the px price. I was very happy with that, because had delivery taken, say, 15 weeks, I would have still had 9k px.

As above, I'm sure you can arrange it to suit yourself!

Good luck! Great choice of car!!

They would give you an estimated part exchange figure based on when they think your car will be available. This would take into account the cars age at that time plus mileage etc.
