Hi guys,

Just come back from a garage after having the cambelt and waterpump replaced, all was fine and dandy for 30 miles. allthough now the car has no power and makes a really loud wooshing noise when accelerating.

Any ideas what this could be?

Car is a 2005, MK1 octavia vRS, 53,000 on the clock

EDIT: There are no engine management warning lights etc on the dashboard and the car sounds normal at idle.

Popped pipe?

sounds like they left a jubilee clip loose and has now poped off

i would guess pancake pipe connection

Most likely a boost pipe has popped off

Was indeed a boost pipe. Took it back to the garage who sorted me out no extra charge. Top result!
