best radio?

Featured Replies

Hi,

im looking to get a new double radio to fit my fabia, any ideas on good cheap ones??? something like a double din or touchscreen would be nice.

Thanks :)

Sometimes cheap and good are words not seen in the same sentence. There are copious cheap double-din chinese units on ebay that will even make you a cup of tea (ok only joking but they do dvd, sat nav etc), but as to how good they are unfortunately ebay feedback cannot reflect.

For example http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/TD712G-7-Dash-Double-Din-Car-Dvd-Player-GPS-Sat-Nav-/220700368397?pt=UK_Audio_TV_Electronics_In_Car_Entertainment_GPS_In_Car_Audio_Players_PP&hash=item3362c45e0d I would be loathed to buy it though in case of delivery issues and just due to the fact that if it's naff it's £165 that could have gone towards a better one.

I`ll agree with the above. Me and a few mates have all be taken in by all singing units like the above, but while they do as they say, they arnt the best made. The menu`s and other bits can be a bit outdated.

Personally if it were me, I`d just get a decent branded headunit. I paid £150 for a cheap DVD/Bluetooth/MP3 unit. It broke after a year or so, and i never really used the functions apart from the USB slot. Now i have a kenwood one, much less flash, but much nicer to use, and does the job! Think about what you`ll actually use it for maybe before buying.

From looking about on ebay as I was after the same thing you will be spending about £250-300 for a decent branded one used with all the bells and whistles. I decide dthat I was being a bit stupid because I would never use the DVD player. The only reason I wanted one was to be abl eto quickly navigate throug my huge itunes library. Saw sense and just deceided to get an IPOD specific alpine XDA unit instead.

Depends what you call cheap really you won't get a touch screen for under 300.
