I hope someone can answer this for me because it's driving me mad. When I drive off for the first time in the day, after about half a mile I get this loud "PING" like a warning sound coming from somewhere behind the dash. There are no warning lights on and once it dose it, it dosent happen again until the next time after an overnight rest. Its been happening now for about a couple of months, so what is it?

It could be the ice warning? When it pings does the temperature show on the display with the ice symbol?

Yeah, it bongs / pings when the temperature drops below 4 degC (or, as I noticed today, rises above -5 deg C: http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/183021-whats-wrong-with-this-picture/)

You'll notice that whatever is in the left-hand LCD has been replaced by the current outside temperature along with a snowflake.

Sounds like the ice warning, alway make me jump, as i think someting is wrong!

The manual makes mention of one (120 or 140kmph, I think), although I believe it also says it's only switched on for certain areas.

I said a couple of months it could have been just one, but I think you have cracked it with the ice waning has it has been down to below minus 15 for the last few weeks here. funny enough today the temp. rose to minus 1 and low and behold NO PING.

minus 1 doesn't activate the Ice Warning?

Cold weather outside will trigger temperature display into action, in the place where the clock/time display normally is.

It's tone can make you suddenly panic, a more pleasant sound would get the message across,

without giving the driver or passengers a sudden heart attack. LOL

Mine thought it would show me the weather was at +7... no idea why it thought it needed to beep to that...
