I bought my phone from virgin in July and have been with them for 11 years and have requested a code to unlock the handset to take any sim, I paid £15 and the guy told me it would be sent in the post in 3 - 5 working days. However when I called them before about something else and I asked about instructions on how to unlock it when i get the code from them they told me that as its a Nokia phone it can take up to 6 weeks to get the unlock code.

They seem to be blaming it on Nokia but do you guys know or have known someone that's gone through this as 6 weeks seems a bit extreme after they have took the money, How long should it take.

Apparently the bloke on the market cant even unlock it as it has something called sl3 encryption on the phone so has to end up being requested from Nokia direct, Dont fancy waiting until next year just for a code.
