Stuttering under acceleration

Featured Replies

My vrs has started to stutter when accelerating over the last couple of days. It feels like it's misfiring when I accelerate hard. It can't be the clutch as the rev needle isn't jumping at all. I'm guessing it's down to the cold weather?

There are no warning lights on, the glow plugs warm within 3 seconds and it starts fine. Any ideas?

Water in the fuel filter? Possibly freezing up?

Is there a how to on the fuel filter? Does diesel freeze? And could it be a dodgy single glow plug?

Does it start poorly?

Had a full fuel drain and filter change after mine was doing this and was fine.

It's pretty simple, it's on the drivers side of the engine bay at the front, just get a new filter and then take the pipes off and fit to the new filter, not forgetting the new o-rings..

Diesel can freeze, but petrol stations move to a "winter" mix of diesel which stops gelling at low temps.. A glow plug would only show up when starting, when you're driving along the glow plug isn't being used.
