One Touch windows not working

Featured Replies

One touch windows have stopped working since I changed the battery yesterday.

I've tried opening them all the way, and closing them (whilst holding the button down after they reach each end for a number of seconds) - usual VAG method.

I've done it on both windows umpteen times, but they still don't one touch open/close.

Any other ideas greatly received!

When you have closed the windows keep the button pulled up for about 10 seconds and they should work on one touch again

how do you enable this one touch thing? is it the obd2 plugin that you need to buy like for the mk4 ibiza?

Two pointers:

First the manual states:

Electrically operated power windows do not operate

If the battery of the car has been disconnected and then reconnected, the electrically

operated power windows do not operate. The system must be activated.

Proceed as follows in order to re-establish the function:

• turn the key in the lock of the driver door into the closing position and hold it

there until all of the windows are closed,

• release the key,

• Once again insert the key and turn it into the closing position for about 3

seconds.

Secondly since that didn't work on mine, in the end I found one of the fuses was loose and dirty - I replaced it with a new fuse and everything was fine again. (This was AFTER an incompetent Skoda dealer had replaced one of the electric actuators trying to resolve it! Needless to say they didn't charge me and I haven't set foot in the place again!)

Cheers for the replies guys.

For the record, holding them all the way up and down using the driver's buttons didn't fix it (no matter how long you hold the button for after they reach the ends).

I tried this a million times on the way home from work (30miles!)

Only way to fix them is to roll down the windows (and up) using the carkey in the driver's door.

tried the whole shut and then hold for 3 seconds and managed to set the alarm off? ahah

What worked for me is to remove the switches off the drivers door and clean the contacts on the circuit board, either with electrical cleaning solvent or get a small flat blade screwdriver and gently scratch the contacts (thats what i did and theyre as new)
