Advice on buying a Fabia I VRS

Featured Replies

Hello everyone!

I have recently joined as i am looking to get a Fabia I Vrs, test drove 1 and really enjoyed it ( was looking for a small diesel with a bit of poke and potential for more power, and vrs seems perfect)

I am looking at 2005/2006 cars with 40 - 60K, is there anything specific / known faults i should be aware of and look out for.

Also when i do get one, what sort of price on everage i should be looking to pay for a remap and what power gains could i expect from otherwise standard engine, how do these engines cope with maps i.e. clutch etc.

Will be very thankfull for any usefull info.

Cheers

Sam

There`s a few bits to check, but nothing too terminal. Leaky door seals being the main one to check for. That kinda age and mileage all should be tip top.

With regards to remaps, its all down to the map in question, some being quite aggressive, which will knacker your clutch and turbo fairly quickly. However, a nice smooth map will see a decent 165-175bhp, and cause you no problems. Lucky enough, your not too far away from Unit 18, which not only do some of the best maps in the business, but also are very reasonably priced. Well worth a shout when you do come to look at work/mods.
