Right here we go.... Im looking a getting this head unit alpine ixa w404r its double din unit im happy with that choice, what i dont know about is what speakers shall i get?

My ideas so for are the new type r alpine components 120 ish (is it worth amping these if so do i need a 2 or 4 way?

Im lost for what to do for the rear, i want to update all of the speakers, but im not sure if its worth doing the tweaters (in the front and rear)?

Im keen to stick to alpine, has anyone got a better idea or, a what i would do suggestion, im not loaded, but by no means do i want to put crap into the car, i would like a noticeable difference in quality with the sound in my car.

It's not only worth amping your new component speakers it is essential if you want to hear a noticeable improvement in sound.

You should get a 4 channel amp and use 2 channels to power your front speakers.

2 channels bridged to mono will power your sub. (If you are not fitting a sub now, a 4channel amp will allow you to do so later so giving you flexibility if you should change your mind.)

You don't need to change your rear speakers. Keep the standard ones in and turn down the volume.

All rear speakers will do is drag the soundstage rearwards and destroy sound quality in the front of the car.

If you insist on keeping rear speakers for sound fill-in then you can use the head unit to drive them.

Add sound deadening to the front doors and that little lot will give you the sound improvement which you are looking for.

........ im not sure if its worth doing the tweeters (in the front and rear)?...........

Just to clarify, a set of component speakers in the front will include tweeters, mids and a crossover.. The tweeters go into the original positions near the door mirrors. The mids replace the originals in the doors, and the crossovers fit in behind the door cards.

Don't even think of fitting new tweeters in the rear for the reasons explained earlier. Your ears will never forgive you !

This is where I got my head unit and components which is good! Yeah I'll get the alpine 4 way I think! Thanks for the research. 1 more question do you know if I need to be careful about the depth of components ( the front speakers) are components easy to fit or not?

You do have to be careful of the depth of the speakers as there isn't much room behind the doorcard on a Fabia so shallow-depth speakers are advisable. You may even have to resort to mounting the speakers on a baffle to get them to fit. So the answer is that it isn't easy fitting them, but the end result will make it very worthwhile!

I believe that CDT make shallow-depth components which will fit easily, and these are very good speakers, but as you have already bought the Alpines it may be a case of asking Car Audio Design if you can swap them.

If so, I would recommend doing so as it will make your life a whole lot easier come installation time and the CDTs sound better than the Alpines anyway!
