vRS windscreen washer level warning

Featured Replies

Quick heads up, I normally check the level fairly frequently but the roads yesterday were incredibly cacked up. Was a bit suprised to find washer fluid sputtering out without so much as a ping. Took it into agents as I thought perhaps there was may have been something wrong. After looking at the parts list it transpires the washer fluid bottle fitted to the vRS does not have a "level contact switch". Ergo no warning when things are getting low.

Still loving the little beast though!

That's a strange omission - the warning is very useful particularly during the present road conditions.

Every car should really have a warning light for the washer fluid. I have just ordered a Fabia Estate with headlight washers. Usually with this option it includes a washer level warning light. However the dealer thinks that there is no warning light on the Fabia. Pity because I find it a very useful feature on my Scout which has headlight washers as standard.

Most cars don't have the feature agree that it would be useful especially if people don't top up on a regular basis (like my brother :S) Fabia gets the warning light with headlight washers have them fitted to mine and the washer light comes on and goes out when ignition is turned on which it didn't on pre facelift without headlight washers.
