How many hours labour to fit new clutch and dmf?

Featured Replies

Got a used clutch and dmf, need it fitted this week but dont want conned saying it'll take 3/4 hours

Not sure how long it would take but I got a quote from a local VW specialist for labour only and it was £140 to fit a new flywheel and clutch which I thought was pretty good.

Oh well labour in Glasgow is around £40 an hour, so hopefully no more than £80. I'll call a few places on Monday

£100 is good. I was quoted £250 + VAT + any consumables!

I'll be uprating my clutch soon if I can get it fitted for £100 all in!

Its not easy - 3 hours minimum I imagine. gearbox needs to be detached and dropped off to change it.

Book time for the Fabia vRS is just under four hours.

Ally at Unit18 where Matt went normally charges 100 for a gearbox in and out.

As above, used Unit 18. Ally is the king of clutch changes, worth a drive if your a little way away too.

I'm going to call the place that changed my intercooler for £40 they service all the taxis ( skodas ) so see what they say bout clutch and dmf Monday

There's a guy on here called colinhowie who is in the Glasgow area and is a VAG tech from somewhere. He does homers and offered me pretty reasonable prices for some work recently. Not got roundto using him yet though.
