Skoda Fabia Passenger Door Locking

Featured Replies

Hi,

I'd be grateful for some advice please....

I have a Fabia 1.2 HTP64 which seems to have developed a problem with the drivers side rear passenger door locking mechanism. When I unlock the car using the key fob, all the doors unlock apart from that particular door. To get it open, I have to reach in through the drivers door and pull the inside handle, then the little knob thingy pops up and can open the door. When I lock the doors using the fob, all 4 doors lock fine....its just opening that door that is causing problems. Its a bit annoying because I always put my work stuff on the back seat before I get in to drive. Wondering if its the cold weather, or if something else is causing it......any advice is welcome.

Cheers!

Steve

Do things like the speaker, mirror, windows etc all work? Might just be a dodgy connection.

What happens if you unlock the car with the key in the effected door?

Hi Joe,

Thanks for the reply. Everything else, electrically speaking, works fine...its just that one particular lock. I haven't tried the key in the lock, I always use the key fob, but I'll give it a go tomorrow.

Cheers,

Steve

No worries Steve,

might just be a dodgy lock mechanism then if it's the only thing in the door that's not working, although I imagine someone more experienced will be along soon. Although if it works with the key, I'd have no idea!

Thanks Joe, I'll have a closer look at it this weekend...maybe get the door card off and have a bit of a poke around.

If it is factory fit Central locking, there is nothing to see under the door card AFAIK.

Cheers for that......I think it may be solved anyway after a liberal spraying of the lock with WD40.
