Light bulb warning flashed for a second?

Featured Replies

Handbook doesn't explain much...

But the bulb light flashed up and then went... Any ideas?

The manual states:

Light bulbs* 

The warning light  comes on if a light bulb is damaged:

• brakes applied (brake light),

• in lighting (low beam and/or rear light).

A peep sounds as an additional warning signal.

... so was it when you hit the brake pedal?

It's most likely a dodgy terminal or one of the bulbs is on it's way out, if it keeps doing it just change which ever bulb it is and it will be fine.

I used to get the bulb light on when I started the car and pressed the brake pedal within a few seconds, it would go off after a few mins but I got sick of it and changed the bulb and it's been fine ever since :)

The problem though presumably is knowing which bulb is causing it. I suppose you could take out all the bulbs and clean the terminals then put them back in and it might be fixed. Presumably from the manual description it's just the low beam, rear side and rear brake that are monitored? So if it's not happening when the brake pedal's pressed there are only four bulbs to consider?
