Need oil for my brother's Felicia 1.3 MPi. I'm not sure what oil I need I think it might be 10w-40? I don't want to spend too much (GTX Magnatec) or be too cheap (£4 Wilko own brand). Where's the cheapest place to get oil?

Any 10W/40 semi-synth oil that meets API SG, VW 501 01, or VW 500 00 specifications should do. Even in the Felicia or Fabia the basic design of the engine still dates back to 1964, so frequent, regular changes with any suitable oil is probably more beneficial than spending the equivalent on expensive hi-tech oils.

Lidl brand oil works well @ £12.99 (or less if on offer) for 5 litres.

Just got some oil from B&Q. Magnatec 10W-40 was on offer for £3 a litre! It does say however it's API is SL/CF and it meets VW 505.00. I take it that this means this exceeds old specs?

SWMBO's 1.4 MPi gets GTX (non-Magnatec, I think...)
