My new little car is brill, no power steering, no central locking and an engine that looks as if I can rediscover the joys of grassed knuckles and throwing spanners around. Can someone tell me why I need a micro chip in the door key??????

Hey there the reason is because your felicia has an immobilier and the key has a chip in it. If you go to a good key cutting place they will be able to copy the chip and put it into your new key for you. when i enquired for my felicia it was about £25.00. hope this helps mate.

cheers sorry to sound so misarable but ive been to the main high street shops in both telford and shrewsbury i have also email enquiry to local main dealer (no responce) thank you for your responce, i prsume keys are coded to spcific car do you know/recomend any online services

cheers

Hi, yeah the keys chip is always different to another car because the chip has to register with a sensor in the ignition which allows your car to start.and they are unique to the your car. I don`t know where to suggest for you to go, I had another key cut for my felicia at a standard locks smith, but apart from that I don`t know. I think felicia`s are good cars and are extremley reliable. They also soup up quite well aswell. Sorry i can`t help anymore.
