Wasted Money!

Featured Replies

Both happy and frustrated right now!!!

The details are under my quick exhaust question thread.

So i recieved all the parts, including the stainless steel manifold recommended by Tom, i also purchased a 100 cell sports cat and the diesel centre and rear pipes for the increased bore.

I also purchased a down pipe, after realising mine one one blowing.

However when i laid out all the parts in my front room(they all arrived on the same day strangely) i realised that the performance manifold formed the down pipe also, so the £50 downpipe with flexi joint on the end is completely useless.

Also the manifold(from raceland) also included a decat pipe so i didn't even need the sports cat either(until the mot in june) so thats a total £115 wasted.

I now have a brand new downpipe and nothing to do with it! I wish i had a second skoda to fit it to.

Anyway rant over,

I am comtemplating attending the AMD rolling road day in Jan now as i want to see if my finely tuned exhaust system has added many horses to my motor! OR will a 75bhp Felly just be embarassing to take to a rolling road day?

that cat pipe isn't a cat replacement pipe so far as i can remember, it is only just long enough to reach the cat and is intended to be welded onto the oe cat... those stainless compensator joints are rubbish too, you are better off cutting it off and putting a braided flexi pipe in there like i've done with mine

I knew you would come through and explain it to me. thanks tom!

Well i will still get a flexijoint, will check all the parts next to the car to see what the lengths are.

Thanks again Tom

i think most of the complication comes from the fact that the manifold is designed to fit a 6n polo, but as i said before you can do some bodgery to make it fit
