Skoda in Cumbria

Featured Replies

Hello all,

I'm up in the beautiful Lake District and I've just bought a 55 plate Octavia Estate 1.9 TDi 4x4.

If my memory serves me right, this is my 6th Skoda. My first car was a beige Estelle 1.2 which served my well for 3 years at uni and was a hoot to drive in the wet or snow/ice with all the weight in the back! Through Favorit and Felicia (with a Rapid on the way) in 2007 I bought a new Octavia 2.0 TDi Elegance which I loved - however with the awful weather up here last year I was forced to change to a RAV4 to get about (self employed). I managed to dtick with it for a year but have just bought the 4x4 Octavia.

Just found the forum and have to say it is a fantastic resource.

If anyoune knows of a reputable garage to use in the South Lakes (Kendal area) then please pass it on.

Thanks

Iain

Hello and welcome, a fellow Cumbrian resident. Considering a 4x4 or Scout myself if the winters are going to be permanently like this.

Not sure about garages in your immediate area but maybe PM Vrs_Dta. He may know some. Otherwise maybe check out CumbriaVAG site. They are far more orientated to VW, but most of the members appear to live in or around Kendal.
