SQ CarAudio in Fabia II

Featured Replies

what are you planning to do?

do you know big big the cables are, battery to alternator, to chasis

Pretty sure standard cables are 4awg.

If your going SQ+ then sound deadening is going to be key to improve the sound in the somewhat bare Fabia II.

that's thicker than i expected for standard. good news.

yeah, road noise is terrible, i'm planning on extra deadening in mine, but it weighs a lot. also thinking of putting some on the ceiling where the sun visor are so that you don't get a thump when you close the visors

the standard tweeter positions are great in the A pillars as there's no need to to pillar builds.

I already have an SQ-building and will move almost anything.

The car will sound deadening and it will take a few hours :-) .

Cables will be 70 mm2 (AWG 2 / 0) and an extra battery will be moved over (the original battery will be replaced with one better).

SQ construction does not draw as much power (in contrast to DB loud player).

The current car I have put well over 100 hours and it will probably stop in the new car.

The car will be ordered (new Fabia TSI 86Hk 2011) in the spring so there will be a long-term construction.

A pillar will have one high and a 3 "midrange

An early construction start

I am glad other construction photos

I can recommend butyl based core with Aluminum is available from several manufacturers.

The type is very easy to work with and it's like a semi-soft compound.

A good start is usually to mitigate the doors but there is little work, both outer side, between the plate and door side should be dampened.

Examples from a manufacturer, I will use another brands

i have already deadened the doors and i no longer hear the rattling when i turn up the volume, however there is still noise, i can still hear the music from outside when the doors and windows are closed. might be the door seals..

if i've got a 250 watt rms class d amp for the sub and a 600 watt rms a/b class for components, which will put more strain on the battery/alternator considering that i only get a very slight dimming of the lights when playing 'loud' and when there's heavy bass (say, about 125 db+?

on about 120db there's no problem at all. can play all day no with very little heat generated
