Is it possible to disable the boot opening from the remote?

Featured Replies

Hi guys, does anybody know if it's possible to disable the ability to open the boot from the remote?

Everytime I come to the car in the morning the bloody boot is open as I've managed to press the button while the keys are in my pocket.

I have an 02 plate estate with a 3 button remote.

Thanks in advance guys.

Get a 2 button remote..lol

I assume open the key and disconnect the button is the obvious option.

It's not a problem I've ever encountered with the vRS.

I sometimes lock or unlock mine if I have loads of stuff in my pocket, but the boot needs to be held down for a while before it works

I've never experienced that in over six years of ownership of two vRSs. It does have to be a deliberate press to get it to actuate.

Take keys out of pocket. ISTR a post where someone came to a car full of snow as they had their keys in their pocket and ended up venting the car by holding the unlock button down.

Thanks for the responses guys. Does anybody know if something like VAGCOM can disable it?
