Featured Replies

Hi has anyone changed the anti roll bar bushes themselves on a 1.9tdi? Ive been told that mine are shot and may have a go myself if its straight forward enough?

Hi there, done this job many times and is quite straight forward.

You may need to undo and remove the short drop links that are attched from the ARB to wishbone to give you better movement to get to the bushes, so consider this.

Few pics to give you a idea.

Pic of the standard ARB fitted with the old bush in place that has a bracket and bolt holding it in place. Can also see the damaged steering rack gaiter(MOT station never picked this up?)

This pic shows the subframe lowered as i was replacing the FARB which you will not need to do..

View of the FARB with the bush stops visible, that the bushes and bracket fit up against. slightly different FARB to yours but the bushes fit in the same way (pictured is a R32 Golf one I fitted)

ARB now installed with new powerflex bushes/brackets and bolts.

One tip is to screw in longer bolts to compress the bushes / bracket in place then remove and fit correct bolts, otherwise it is difficult to fit the shorter bolts.
