£180 for an Alloy wheel. (16 inch, 6 spoke)

Featured Replies

From dealings in the past with my local skoda dealer I avoid them like the plague, but for Skoda parts I have little choice about it. When the ice first came I skidded into a kerb and broke an alloy wheel, and luckily my spare was an alloy wheel so I carefully drove round to kwik fit for them to put snow tyres on all 4 and scrap the broken wheel.

Anyway, got a day off today as it's my birthday, so finally had a chance to go round to the nearest dealer, as they don't do parts or servicing at the weekend. This is the wheel I found on the Skoda site...

Anyway, they look up the part number, and it doesn't match the one associated with the chassis number on my car. It's got 5 spokes for a start, so the photo on the website is clearly wrong. Anyway they take one of the wheels off the car to find the part number, and it matches the one that matches my chassis number, but oh what a ******* suprise... its £180. 50% more than what I thought I was paying for. How on earth can it be £30 more than the top of the line 17 inch wheel on the accessories site.

I'm so annoyed at my Skoda dealer, I'm going to write to Skoda and ask them how much the wheel should be, and why their website is wrong. Every single time I see them I feel like I have been conned, but I had to order it as I need a spare wheel.
