I have a light clonking sound coming from the offside rear of my Fabia. Its only when driving over bad bumps and ruts and sounds a bit like the noise when you put your finger in your cheek and pop it out! Looked under the car and tried bouncing it but cant replicate or find anything, its nothing loose in the back either. Any ideas please, Ill mention it at the cars next service but thats not due for 2000 miles.

Hi Lemon, at the risk of sounding daft...I frequently do!!...you haven't got something in the underfloor boot space that's bouncing or rolling around eh? Maybe a loose spare wheel if you have one? I cannot think of anything that would cause a cheek popping noise, unless it's your rear o/s shock piston getting a bit sticky, but you would probably hear that when bouncing the car. Or, maybe an ELF lost and living in your boot who is popping his cheek with his finger! Sorry, couldn't resist saying that...

LOL, no not an Elf its got a bit louder so obviously something is amiss, Ill turn the stereo up, Oh I cant as the door trims vibrate then

Mmmm. I get a similar clonking at the rear of my Fabia when driving over speed humps. Must check the boot space for loose items although don't think there is anything but will re-check.
