Load signal wire. Where is it broken?

Featured Replies

Hi.

The ASR light comes on after 10 mins of driving everytime since ive owned the car. After a scan with vag com, it showed the load signal wire.

A bit of research led me to this: http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/showthread.php?t=209472.

Ive had a look into the bay and also had a look by a someone underneath whilst getting the MOT done, they couldnt see the wire...

Any hints as to wear more to look?

Thanks.

I thought this wiring problem only affected petrol engines especially the 1.4.

Had to get mine repaired too. Couldnt tell you where tho, its a long old bit of wire to trace i think.

In front of the gearbox can see it from underneath wtih the undertray off. The bracket that holds the connectors bolts to the bottom starter motor bolt.

If you start at the alternator, there should be a plug on it with two wires going into some black plastic conduit, this is the load wire, follow it down to the gearbox, as previously said it's on the gearbox they usually go as there is another plug there, it's a pain to get to, if you can get under the car it's a lot easier, should be pretty obvious if it's broken, just lightly pull at each one until one falls apart lol...

Well there you go, I thought this wiring probelm mainly affected the TDI engines!
