EPC light on...

Featured Replies

Hi,

EPC light has come on tonight :( I've done a fault test with a generic fault tester but this doesnt read anything. The CEL isnt on either.

Turn the car off and then back on and the light stays off until you drive / rev the car.

The light just came on as the car was being driven, turned it off, started back up and then the car was ok for a bit, then came back on. Since then its on all the time when driving.

Checked the brake lights and these are ok. Drives the same with the MAF disconnected.

Car is just in limp mode now.

The CEL did come on once, reported a P2138 (generic - tps) but this hasnt displayed again.

Im at a loss really!! Any help appreciated!

I think P2138 is throttle position sensor fault?

I think P2138 is throttle position sensor fault?

It is, but the CEL doesnt report any more faults after its been cleared and he car has been driven again - i think the P2138 is a result of the EPC fault, not the cause of.

Is there any chance that even though the brake lights work fine that this could still be the cause?

The car starts ok - could it be the G28 sensor on its way out?

anyone got any ideas at all? I've tried to do a search on epc but the search doesn't bring up any

results, I don't think it likes 3 letter searches.

thanks
