Vaiable service confusion

Featured Replies

Here is 1 Ross might be able to answer ........

If I let you know my ECU number, could you determine if it is possible to code variable service intervals. ( see below)

I have read all posts that the Furby vRS does not have variable service as the oil sensor is not fitted.

WELL wot a surprise i got today, when i picked my car up from it's 20k service, the mech guy informed me that I have it fitted, he noticed it as he was draining the oil. ( i had mentioned to him that the service indicator had not come on ).

So, is it worth all you lucky 04 owners asking the mechanic to check at you next oil change ?

Steve

did you not ask the mech who did your service?

What does the sticker in the handbook / on the boot floor say?

GQ0 or GQ1 ?

Steve here - I cant remember what the sticker is but the manuals and documentation say that it is not variable servicing, however the sensor is there in mine and apparently a certain ecu code has this activated. Asked the mechanic but he was overworked today, It may even be a VAGCOM activation thing, but on the other hand deactivated on the VRS due to the nature of the car..

An oil Level sensor is in your sump. All PD's have them. But not a quality sensor.

And besides the Fabia is devoid of pad wear sensors etc which are also required to run longlife servicing.
