Finding an E-mail address

Featured Replies

Is there any mechanism (Free-of-charge) on the WWW for finding someone's WWW E-mail address ?

The type of E-mail address I am thinking of is in the format [email protected]

Where XXX = a three digit number and ZZZ = initials of a Government department.

Reason for asking is that the main in-house computer system at work , as originally set-up provided every user with two E-mail addresses - an E-mail address attached to a persons t titles and a second E-mail address which is regarded as personal and both E-Mail addresses where displayed on enquiry by the ordinary user

Now as things stand the system does not display the personal e-mail address and there doesn't appear to be a look-up table linking the two. Also, users who are off the main system were only ever provided with an internet format E-mail address (Of the format above) and therefore, from inception, it was not possible to look them-up using the in-house system.

On an email sent to you, right-click the To address and select properties. Are both addresses listed under the E-mail Addresses tab?

Tried that. But everyone at our locality has had their numerical address removed and substituted with a post address.

As said, it appears that some people off-site were never equipped with numbeered e-mail addresses, so this type of look-up never worked from the outset.

If you have access to the server and the addresses are in active directory, then you can use an LDAP tool.

Try

csvde -m -f filename.csv -r "(objectClass=user)"

Unlike DSGet it will list all the email addresses against each user in a single column
