Stephan here.

I will pick up my new Yeti 1.2 TSI DSG on Monday afternoon next week. :D A Platinum grey metallic beauty with the Experience (Swedish) package and the Bolero radio. I feel like a child before Christmas.

Wait a minute, no wonder, it IS just before Christmas!

Merry Christmas everyone !

Welcome, Stephan. :) Does the Experience package include an engine pre-heater?

Godd luck with the new toy. And Happy Christmas back at ya!

So, some impressions of my new Yeti to sum up this tread.

Well, I picked it up on monday evening the week before Christmas. On Tuesday morning me and my family were scheduled to go to a winter resort for Chrismas in the Swedish mountains, about 400 km away from Gothenburg, where we live. My wife didn’t know anything about me buying a new car :giggle: . So on Tuesday morning she got a minor shock when realizing that I (we) got a new car. To start with she wasn’t all that excited about it but when I put her behind the wheel she refused to let go of it and drove all the 400 km:s by herself :D. So she enjoyed and enjoys the x-mas present just as much as I do.

The Yeti is a delight to drive. The small 1.2 litre engine feels much powerful than you would expect and certainly more powerful than the 1,6 litre I have in my old Opel, even though the horse powers are almost identical. The DSG works silk smooth in most situations and keeps the revs in the low end of the max torque span during normal acceleration, which gives a good fuel economy. On our way up to the winter resort we had – 30 degrees centigrade outside in some places but still warm and comfy inside. The average fuel consumption on that trip was 6.5 litres/100km, with brand new spiked winter tyres an the car fully packed with people, skiing gear and Christmas food. On the way back fuel consumption dropped to 6.0 l/100km, probably due to warmer weather, lighter load and run-in winter tyres.

So far, very very pleased with my Yeti and I hope that it will stay that way for many years to come!

Stephan.

PS. Experience package does not include any engine pre-heater, at least not in Sweden.
