1.4TSI arrived, very first impressions

Featured Replies

1.4 TSI Elegance with electric seats.

Auqa Blue with Spitzberg 17". Gobi sand cloth.

1st impression:

Since my spouse is driving 1.2TSI Yeti, first thing I notice is more power from the 1.4TSI, and it pulls from really low revs.

There's been situations on crossroads with 1.2 when I had to use 1st gear altought car was moving ~5km/h, but now with 1.4TSI 2nd gear, Yeti just fly.

2nd impression:

Engine is more quiet then 1.2TSI (and 1.2 is rally quiet)

3rd impression:

Catalog colors are over saturated!

I'm in photography for a long time, and after seeing few Aqua blue Yetis on this forum, I can sign my statement.

Gobi Cloth (half black - half sand) and the Aqua Blue are not the same as in catalog. Wood trims also. Wood is darker than in catalog, and the gobi color of interior are more washed out than in catalog.

But, it looks OK and I'm very satisfied cause "real" Gobi looks more resistant than the saturated version in catalog.

I opted for Aqua BLue even I prefer Mato Brown, but I wanted to our Yetis been different because of easier finding on the house parking :)

Thats it for now, I will post some pictures tommorow.

you must be the first family to own TWO Yeti. Lucky chap

Glad you're enjoying your latest addition! I have found that the 1.4 TSi engine is extremely quiet and super smooth. If it wasn't for the rev counter, I would think the engine had stopped on tickover!

Pulling from low revs I totally agree with as well. It has useable pull from 1200 RPM. Its very diesel like in that respect. ( obviously not quite as much grunt as some of the diesels, but enough to get the job done without fuss.)

Uhm, i have no luck memorizing elec. seat and windows :(

User manual says press SET, and than # I wish.

Maybe I should hold the SET pressed during process?

Sounds cracking - looking forward to trying the smaller petrol Yeti's alongside a TDI 110.

I know that feeling that if you like a car so much, buy two
