Vibration at 1500rpm

Featured Replies

Hi Guys

My 2010 CR vRS has developed an annoying vibration at 1500rpm when the engine is cold. It feels almost like its coming from above me but I have pushed and prodded but with no joy. It only happens when the engine is cold, once it's warmed up a bit the rattle / vibration all but disappears (although it does sound slightly different that at any other rpm even when warm).

This is driving me insane! Any ideas what could be causing it?

Thanks

Right, just been down to my car to investigate further. I was poking around and realised that if I hit the windscreen the vibration stops at the point of impact.

Have also uploaded a video to YouTube so you can see what I'm talking about! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=22hNzdt8MM8 I had the camera up near the rear view mirror as this is where the sound is loudest, although holding the mirror etc doesn't do any good.

Hoping someone can help.

Thanks

Although this has not happened to me, previous threads have suggested that the plastic ticket holder on the right side of the screen can rattle and vibrate. Might be worth trying what others have done. Put a piece of card or an elastic band around it and see if that's the cause.
