New poster 16" wheel- tyre question

Featured Replies

Hi all. This is my first post on these forums so hello to everyone.

Our family car is currently a Fabia 1.4 8v Classic Estate. It

I went from the standard 14" steels to 16" vRS alloys on my fabia. Can't say it made a whole lot of difference to be honest. I'd already had it lowered though, so it wasn't exactly "magic carpet" anyway! I don't think I noticed much difference afterwards...

Welcome to Briskoda, btw! :)

Thanks Steve. Thats what I was hoping. The wheels should look really cool. It will be the first car I've had with 16" wheels.

Hi there

I remember autocar gave the 1.4 16v 4 out of 5 stars when it came out and said it was the best fabia in terms of value for money and all that

Even the Vrs with stiffer suspension and 16" 45profile wheels rides really smoothly so im sure the 1.4 will be great.

You might notice a bit more road noise, but i dont really think its a big deal personally. I remember when i got alloys (with low profile tyres) for my last car which was a 106...it made the handling so much better it transformed the car for me. You could feel the old tyres flexing when cornering hard, nice!

Would have to agree with Goodas the ride is smooth and not much road noise.
