Radio cd player

Featured Replies

Just got home from collecting my new Ambiente estate, just a quick question, as the handbook I got with it doesn't deal with the radio cd player, I was wondering if it would play mp3 ?

As you have an Ambiente I assume that "new" means new to you not brand new.

There were 2 kinds of Stream unit fitted - up to mid 2006 reg they had the non mp3 version, after that the mp3 version was fitted. I had a June 2006 that did not have the MP3. If you have the later version then it clearly says MP3 on the unit.

Whichever you have, the 6 CD changer in the boot does not take MP3

I don't think I have a changer in the boot, the unit in the dash takes 6 disc's !

the car is a 2005 model .

Ambiente estates had a 6 cd changer in the left hand side panel in the boot. The stream HU was the standard radio for this car, which was non mp3. There was a separate radio manual in the handbook wallet.

If the unit in the dash takes 6 discs then it must be the audience head unit. That should read mp3's ....

Thanks for the help, it is indeed a audience head unit and it plays mp3's, would this have been a extra fitted to the car from new ?. I didn't get the manual with the stereo so I don't have the security code for the unit, will any Skoda dealership be able to give me the code ???
