short shifter

Featured Replies

Does anyone has a shortshifter?

Is easy to fit? Are any downsides? I drove my friend's MK2 VRS 6 speed short shift and I love it

All infos are welcomed

Man,your website is top benchmark...

One question....how do you remove this from the cable?

It's really easy - you push the knurled bit up to the square end compressing the spring and the middle part pops apart, allowing the whole end to slide off.

i have a ebay shortshifter. much shorter throw and a lot less play. finding a suitable gearknob was hard though. just fitted superpro dogbone bushes too, makes the change smoother .

ive been lookin at these too

are they ok for fitting , mine is 2001.....

Some one has fitted one of these, can't remember who though, pretty sure it was a black VRS

i have one, i fitted it myself, but its a pain to do, need proper access from underneath really.

Both myself and Oet have these fitted.

Very nice mod. B1tch to fit DIY on the vRS, mega-b1tch to fit on the 4x4 (prop-shaft & exhaust in the way)

Has to be fitted from underneather. Exhaust and heat shield block access ...

I did a DIY guide also on the Forge quick shifter.

Again Rob's site was a big help.. emoticon-0148-yes.gif

Easy job to do and happy with results, Gear shift is a lot less gear throw

Next was the Verdict Motorsport gear shift bushings

I heard about these whilst browsing the VW forums and also our Rob's website as he has these fitted. Ordered from this US website at approx $22 did not break the bank so I gave it a go.

Can see the original rubber mountins on the left verses the solid Verdict mountings on right.

Removing the originals is easy, I memoved the selector cables off the gear linkinage arm as i was replacing that with the forge and was going to do a linkage adjustment anyway. Then I just undid bolts and lift bracket up.

removed the original rubbers

Placed in the verdict replacements

bolted down

Then I reset the gear box linkage

good vid here which is helpful.
