!7" Spiders.

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,

Merry Christmas by the way! Hope you are all enjoying the fetivities and socks/boxers etc etc. :giggle:

I've been thinking of getting my alloys refurbed for quite a while now, and a common price do do all 4 wheels is roughly £200.

Now, I've been looking at prices for new spiders from the stealers, and they seem to be around £460 for the set, iirc.

How much would a set of used spiders go for? They have no kerb damage or anything, but a couple of them have quite bad corrosion on the inside.

What I'm thinking is, rather than getting the wheels refurbished, I could put the £200 towards some new ones, and then sell the old ones, and maybe even break even on the price.

Hi, A very merry xmas to you to!!

been thinking of doing the same! been quoted £35 per wheel, shot blasted, power coated, lacquered, any colour you like( a place in barnlsey) they do work for the skoda& vw dealers in doncaster,

I do like the spiders, I have been looking at rs4 wheels, dezent shift,

but cant make up my mind!!

was going to put 17" on her, my sons just bought 18" rs8 alloys offered them up to skoda didnt look to bad, so looking at 18" as well.

£460 is that all a set of 4 17" vrs spyders are ???????????? i would thought would be alot more than that ??? :smirk: i may have to ask my local skoda out of curiousity :giggle: im planning to obtain some for putting back on when i sell my car

Not use where I saw the figure - I'm sure it was on brisky somewhere.

The 16" version is £115 inc vat here http://www.accessories.skoda.co.uk/productdetail.aspx?p_no=CCB300006

Admittedly, its a different size, but the price can't be that much higher. I don't need tyres either, assuming they are available without tyres.

i'll ask them when they are open again, not bad really if you get a set of genuine spyders new for that  the wheel specialist wants £300 to refurb a set of 4 anyway so if a set of spyders is say £2, like you said mite aswell buy new

is it 205/50/17s the stock octy vrs tyre? i cant remember

Edited by Lloyd55vrs

Yup 205 50 17 is the. Stock tyre size

I was quoted £135 plus VAT from a stealers for a single 17" spider., which comes out at nearer £640 for 4.

Figures don't add up somewhere

Are you sure it was £460, and not £640?

£50 per wheel is average price for refurb.

Well, been browsing on the russian partmaster.com site (really useful, but unfortunately in russian  ).

The part number for 17" RS alloys is 1U0601025P, found here http://autopartmaster.com/en/?action=catalog_show&cat=skoda&t_id=5807&added_=SKODA%20Octavia%202003%20%CA%EE%EB%E5%F1%E0,%20%D2%EE%F0%EC%EE%E7%ED%E0%FF

Interestingly, the candy white RS-WRC version is available, number 1U0601025P F9E.

There's also a chrome coloured one too, ends in 7ZS. Wonder what that one is for?

TBH, I haven't phoned skoda yet to ask. I just remember someone mentioning on here that they were about £460 for the set. That was earlier this year I think.

Gonna ring tomorrow and find out.

If they are much over £500, I'm thinking team dynamics instead

Which dealer was that? I rang up and they said they were no longer available.

I also rang TPS, who quoted £153 +VAT for each wheel (trade price), which comes out at £720 for the set. Holy f**k!! :o

Could get them refurbed nearly 4 times for that lol.

Was a good idea while it lasted :giggle:
