Top left coolant/temp red light on

Featured Replies

Started the car this morning, started 1st time, the light came on, never seen this on before was only serviced a month ago. Mind you it was -12 outside. Engine just very cold?? Anyone else had this?

It might be that because of the cold weather the coolant has shrunk in volume and has dipped just below the min mark, in which case it will need topping up (this is the coolantlevel sensor)

If not, it's probably your radiator coolant expansion tank level sensor playing up. The sensor is embedded in the expansion tank.

Sometimes, topping up the coolant so it is level with the 'Max' mark will resolve this problem, otherwise it is a ~£15/£20 part from the dealers and 20 minutes tops to swap over.

Easy enough fix, as above. Mine does it but not got around to fixing.

Its fine now, used the car this afternoon at -4c. It was -18 at times last night in shropshire so the car was a little chilly. Coolant is on max and is red. Just too cold. My old vr6's always used to do it.... Scrape the sensor with a screwdriver was the answer

Yeah theres no room to in the fabia. Mine done it ALL of last year, then noting this year
