Screen help

Featured Replies

anyone here installed a screen in there fabia ? help much appreciated.

only a fold out dash one, pretty similar to fitting a head unit just more wires

Going to atempt fitting one in to day. Screen is a 7" linitx brand and in its case is 1 or 2 mill to high to fit into double din slot in fabia so looking to remove screen from case and build some kind of face plate to fill rest of space will post pics if i get it done.

How did the fitting of the screen go? Im thinking about the linITX one myself. Just wondering how easy (or not) it was to fit?

Didnt go to well i managed to mount screen into double din space by removing back of screen case and then mounting front of case to a piece of 1/4 " mdf cut to size off hole in dash but had to move the 3 circuit boards inside downwards to get everything to fit flush but in doing this screen stopped working after 3 days in car and i couldnt get it working again.

Have recieved new screen and i am going to enquire as to cost of new center section of dash from skoda as i can then mount screen better by cutting some of dash away rather than have to move internals of screen.

will then keep new dash section for if and when i sell car.

Will post pics of screen and hole in this thread soon to explain sizing problem.

Hmm, it looks as if the screen itself will easily fit in the double DIN slot. You said you only removed the back of it? Can you not strip the whole of the screen down and see how much that gives you to play with?

Will be interested to see how this develops as im currently planning my in-car pc. Keep us updated!
