I keep reading about this 'pikey quick shift' mod by modifying the gear stick? How is this done and does it actually help? I hate how far the gear stick moves when changing gear.

I did it and think it's fantastic. Advice on that guide though

-use a hacksaw, takes hours using pipe cutters

-use proper HSs drill bits, I used 3mm dewalt drill bits. The crap ones take ages and snap when drilling the shaft

-use a4 grade self tappers when screwing into the shaft, it's the only thing really strong enough to get into the gearstick shaft metal.

Otherwise easy and very good! Didn't read the author of the thread lol. I've done it, easy and effective.
