i just recently replaced my heater blower motor , i removed the glovebox for access and disconnected the airbag switch, then without thinking started and ran the car with the switch disconnected , i now have the airbag light on. i know there isnt a fault but while the light is on is the airbag system still ok, and can i reset it by disconnecting the battery for a while.

any help appreciated

You need to use VCDS or another diagnostic tool to reset the airbag

No the airbags will all be inoperable whilst the light is on, you will also need VCDS to turn it off again, disconnecting the battery will not work.
