Engine under-tray full of screenwash

Featured Replies

Hi

I've lost the screenwash to rear window on my Octy Estate - on closer inspection it's squirting out into the engine bay down behind the o/s headlight, so assume the pipe has come off at the reservoir end . I can't see how to get a hand down there to feel about - will the front wheel or engine under-tray have to come off for access? On the plus side I have a friendly Skoda independent garage about 30 seconds away, but suspect he's not open until Thurday at the earliest.

Yeah, can be tricky to access. You might be able to get to it jacking up the front left, and taking the wheel off. Unclipping the wheel arch liner on the frontward side of the arch will probably allow easier access.

Not sure really, but maybe if you take out the headlamp assy. you might be able to reach offending item - I have not tried this, just a thought!

User manual says headlamp assy is easy to removeto change the bulb, if you have not got the user manual you (& anyone else for that matter) can download i from www.skoda.co.uk

Ooh yeah - I never thought about removing the headlamp - it's dead easy to remove as I did the beam adjustment back in the summer. Thanks, I'll see if that gives me any room, but the reservoir seems a long way down!

I got in there (on my car not yours !) by removing headlamp and foglamp.

Easy

Thanks - I'm assuming it's just a push fit - none of those nasty wire circlips that ping off

Had the same on our mk1 est. the garage undone the screws round the washer bottle and lifted it and just pushed the pipe back on, less than 5mins and didn't charge

i have just burst the washer fluid tank on my octy, I dont see any way of easily accessing the pipes from the tank without removing the bumper. I can take a photo of it all if you like.
