Factory-fit Towbar Preparation

Featured Replies

Not getting much help from official sources where this feature is concerned.

I understand the factory fit a wiring loom from the fuse box to the rear wheel arch; to which the towbar fitters then connect the 13 pin socket, but what else is done?

The Yeti appears to come with a section pre-cut in the rear bumper and a blanking plate for use when the towbar is detached; is this also the case for the Octavia?

Do the VAG-COM/VCDS codes get changed by the factory in any way to account for this feature?

I've read the threads which concern the pros and cons and cost of this optional extra, but if someone who has actually had it done could enlighten me as to the above I'd appreciate it.

Cheers
