rims for winter tyres

Featured Replies

I have a 1.4 but want rims that will fit my next Octavia as well. Possibly 1.6 or Superb.

Heard elsewhere that skinny rims are more suited for winters. Is that right?

Will any Octavia rim fit any Octavia?

You need 112 X 16"size with an offset of around 45 to 50 with 205/55/16 Winter Tyres

Audi and VW Alloys will fit too

yes, 2006

If you're the sort of driver (like me!) who never does over about 90mph, I suggest you get 15" x 6" Skoda steel wheels. You'll find that 15" winter tyres are much cheaper. I've been running them as a replacement for my OE 16" alloys and I can't tell the difference in the dry. In cold wet/snowy conditions there's less noise, slight comfort improvement and, of course, they actually go/stop/corner in the snow.

Couldn't say whether they'll fit your Superb (which you haven't bought yet!)
