HELP!!!!

I have accidentally snapped a breather pipe on my vrs i have a new one on order but need to get my car to a mechanic to have it put on as there is a Weird type of jubilee clip on it??

Is it ok to drive the 2 miles to the garage with out it??

Sorry if its a stupid question but i cant think what else to do??? :S

Thanks

Cut off wierd jubbilee clips re-fit with a normal one

Don't bother with garage

My lower breather pipe snapped and i just stuck the end in the upper pipe as a temp fix. It was fine for a week. Alternatively, depending upon where the split is, some duck tape might suffice for a short trip.

its a bit of a job to get too in order to cut the clip off as i don't want to damage anything else!!!

And it has completely snapped in two where it joins a 'Y' piece so cant poke it inside as a quick fix, so will it be ok to drive as it is??

It's the Y breather on the top of the block ????

If yes just drive it, mine was split for a while before I noticed ....no harm done

I am driving around with mine looking like this ATM. From the amount of oil over the engine bay I would surfice it has been like that for a while and it seems ok. I don't intend to replace it for a while yet (waiting for a the oil catch can to turn up).

they are the the ones but mine is the right hand side one and its snapped at the other end right at the bottom of the block!!!

This one is easy to replace, ideally with jubilee clips. Quite a few members have upgraded to a silicon hose (about £30), just be a bit careful though as it was replacing the y breather pipe that i disturbed the lower breather which was starting to crumble and broke, resulting in a further £30 silicon replacement plus 2 hours labour at a garage to fit :'(

A tip for removing those std clips is to get a small thin flat screwdriver wedge it in the middle hole and twist the screwdriver sidewards, then with a spare flat screwdriver prise up the end piece of the clip that is being held in place with a little barb on the clip. This will allow the clip to pop open and you can remove it. Replace with jubilee clips.
