Strange wear on front tyres

Featured Replies

I just noticed that the front nearside tyre on my 12K miles 2009 Octavia Elegance tyre is worn a lot more than the Offside. The strange thing is that both tyres are evenly worn across the tread, no signs of the tyres being under or over inflated or any sign that the tracking is out as the edges of both tyres are not worn more than the rest of the tyre.

I have never seen anything like this before and I thought it may be due to roundabouts as I have seen wear due to that before but that tend to wear the edges of the tyres.

Any thoughts?

My front offside tyre has always worn around the outside 1-2cm of the tread since my Octavia was first purchased in 2006: I've talked to several tyre people, and they said that getting the tracking done regularly can help, as can swapping the tyres around.
