Fault codes

Hi

my 2007 octavia 2.0 pd tdi is not running as it should,

While driving the other day the abs/asr lights came on along with a beeping sound, the red handbrake light and the coil lights/steering wheel light flashed and the speedo and the rev counter dropped to zero,the headlights also went off, the engine was still running and i managed to park safely,the hazzards wouldnt work either.

The engine was switched off but then refused to start for a good 20 minutes or so,

Eventually i got it started and all seemed to be well apart from the airbag light staying on.

The temperature outside was -13 so i could understand if that was a factor.

Has anyone got any ideas what could cause this to happen?
