Bushes, help please.....

Featured Replies

Hi folk,

I need to change my wishbone bushes as they were in a bad state at mot time and I need to get them changed as it's has had a bad effect on the inside of my tyres : (

I take it I should replace it with OEM cupra TDI part: WZ-BUSH-6LL407183 and powerflex front wishbone bushes part: PFF85-201?

I'm not very mechanically minded..... What would I expect to pay to have it done? And would I have to get the tracking redone straight away?

Thanks

The part numbers are correct, not sure how much they would cost to fix but plenty of people have had them fitted so someone will be able to tell you and the garage should do the tracking after fitting the bushes but you best ask for them to do it as mine didn't get done which I thought it would !

I recently had my bushes done at a nationwide garage (I'm no mechanic, and have no garage/inspection pit anyway), had to have both bushes replaced. No problem with my tyres but noticed there was 'something' wrong by the fact that whenever the weight shifted in the car (clutching/declutching, braking, going over speed bumps etc) at low/medium speeds, I heard a noise somewhat akin to a victorian wardrobe door badly in need of WD40 on the hinges.

Cost me about £140 ish all-in to replace both bushes.
