understanding offsets / spacers

Featured Replies

right then first of all thanks to this- http://briskoda.net/...-on-your-fabia/ for helping me find this - http://www.1010tires...tCalculator.asp but im still not 100% sure im understanding it correctly emoticon-0136-giggle.gif so apologies for yet another question on this subject ....

right then....am i correct in thinking that [for example] my old rims were et35 7' wide but i used 20mm spacers so does that mean they were the equivalent to a et15 offset?

because basically what im trying to work out is , will a et32 , 8'' wide wheel fit straight under the fabia arches without a problem, ill be running 205-40-17's

happy new year all emoticon-0148-yes.gif

cheers

et32 8" shouldn't be a problem... it may catch on the inside but you'll notice this straight away after fitment....

maybe then get some 10mm spacers

cheers jase, according to the offset calculator there will be 16mm less inner clearance compared with the oe rims [6.5j et35] so i guess its a case of looking to see if ive got 16mm spare or not, want to try and avoid using spacers this time , so could be an expensive mistake otherwise emoticon-0148-yes.gif

Have a play with this to see what effect different wheel width, offset and tyre size will have on clearance

Cheers julie, looks a similar type of thing to the 'offset calculator' i linked to in first post, with a few extra bits n bobs ie speedo reading variations etc emoticon-0148-yes.gif .....

anyone know how much clearance there actually is on the inner [front & back] ? i only need 16mm extra .... emoticon-0136-giggle.gif

Just a quick question if my wheels fit ok now will the rears still be ok with 20mm spacers

ET20/25 is about as low as you can go comfortably
