Exhaust Tip

Featured Replies

Thinking of fitting an exhaust tip on a Fabia 1.4 Classic

Just wondering what size will be needed

The thing with the exhaust is it terminates in a downward bend making it difficult to put most generic ones on, or at least do so and look good. Skoda made a genuine one for which you needed to saw the curved end of the exhaust off. I purchased one off ebay but have not fitted it as I'm unsure if it will fit properly once the exhaust end is sawn off. It looks like it is meant to be used in conjunction with the body kit and I can't tell if it would fit properly without.

Just grabbed the installation leaflet. Part numbers are...

FDC 410 011 for single exit exhaust

FDC 410 021 for twin exit exhaust

Roughly translated from the pics in the installation leaflet.

011 - comes in three pieces, main piece, clamp, and insert. Need to saw end of exhaust off leaving 50mm from the end of the back box. If exhaust diameter is 45mm you need to fit the insert, if 50mm you need to bin the insert. Clamp should be tightened to 20nm ensuring it is level and 20mm clear of rear bumper. (The last bit is the reason I haven't fitted as I am sure it will touch the bumper).

021 - main piece, 2 clamps, 2 thick inserts, 2 thin inserts. Again saw end of exhaust leaving 50mm protruding from bak box. If diameter less than 40mm use 4mm inserts. If greater than 40mm use 1.5mm inserts. Again tighten clamps 20nm ensuring level and 20mm clearance from bumper.
