Featured Replies

Anyone know of any places that do stuff like carbon bonnets and what not for the vRS?

Please no one mention wrap FFS...

no one does them

it was looked into but proved very very expensive to do as a mould would need to be made etc etc

and ££££ out weighed weight saving by alot lol

whats wrong with wraps?

What's right with them? Carbon was used on cars to make parts lighter and stronger (depending on the previous material). Idiots saw nice carbon on decent cars and instead of paying a lot of money for it they just wrap stuff in carbon which is doing nothing but adding more weight to the car and telling everyone that you like men. :giggle: It doesn't look anywhere near real carbon either.

A weight of a sticker? Think it looks nice for what it is, looks real enough imo (there are different grades and types of CF which does look similar to the stickers). most of the public want CF for aesthetics rather than rigidity or weight saving. Im sure that 5-10kgs of sprung weight can be saved elsewhere quite easily :giggle:

I have a friend who works in the trade so he may help me out on some material.. Now I just need an idea on where to stick them.

Id contact Devonutopia on here cos im pretty sure hes got a carbon bonnet on his 300bhp monster. I think he got it from some guy that runs a rallycross fabia, 400 euros or something like that

Yes, there is a German motorsports firm that makes a complete range of carbon fibre body panels for the fabia bit they are somewhat pricey as you might expect. If you really want to do something a bit unusual then the wide body kitcar setup from Superskoda.cz is as close as you'll get to the look of a genuine WRC car without shelling out for a rebodied car.
