Skoda Felicia stiff door handles

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I would really appriciate some advice.

The front passenger outside door handle is very stiff and won't go down by itself. It will still open the door but has to be pushed back down again before the door can be shut. I have removed the internal door trim and can see that the spring on the bar is intact and have tried greasing around all moving parts that I can see. However the problem remains. Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

Nick

It could well be the latch/lock mechanism itself rather than the handle - easy to check by removing the internal cover and unclipping the link rod at one end, then seeing if the handle will move freely. Either way, having got that far, it should then be very straightforward to remove the relevant mechanism (handle: one remaining nut on the retaining bracket, or lock: unclip rest of rods, 2 bolts on outside face) from the door and give it a proper clean and lube.
